The Los Angeles Lakers are a storied franchise, and they always seem to land legendary players. In their history, they've had Jerry West (the NBA logo), Wilt Chamberlain, Shaquille OβNeal, Erving "Magic" Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, LeBron "King" James, and the list goes on. Now, the Lakers have acquired Luka DonΔiΔ, a sensational player, via a somewhat shocking blockbuster trade that sent Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks, where he'll team up with Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson. The Lakers, like always, are aspiring to win the NBA Championship. If they can pull it off, it will be the fifth championship for superstar LeBron James and the first for his son, Bronny. At the time of this posting, the Lakers were in fourth place in the Western Conference with a record of 37-21, and they have been on a roll, winning 5 games in a row. They are 10.5 games behind the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder. The Lakers have only 24 games remaining this season with LeBron James averaging 24.9 points per game and his counterpart, DonΔiΔ, averaging 26.4 points per game with the Lakers. The NBA Finals are set to begin on June 5, 2025, and will air on ABC.
