Directed by Renny Harlin, The Beast is an intense, high-concept action-thriller that delivers a classic, pulse-pounding adrenaline rush reminiscent of 1990s blockbusters. The story follows the President of the United States after a coordinated militia of heavily armed, unidentified hostiles launches a surprise coup and wipes out his Secret Service detail.
Trapped and actively hunted inside his own impenetrable, high-tech presidential limousine—affectionately nicknamed "The Beast"—the President must take the wheel himself to evade the assassins. As widespread chaos unfolds across the country and simultaneous attacks threaten national security, the President is forced to navigate a hostile urban war zone.
While steering through explosive ambushes, he must rely on an injured Secret Service agent riding alongside him and push the heavily modified vehicle's classified defensive and offensive capabilities to their absolute limits. Balancing relentless vehicular combat with tense, claustrophobic survival dynamics, the narrative tests true leadership under extreme pressure, pushing the commander-in-chief to rely on grit, tactical instinct, and sheer willpower to protect his family and preserve the nation.
The film features a powerhouse lead cast, starring Samuel L. Jackson as the resourceful, gravelly-voiced President of the United States and Joel Kinnaman as his wounded Secret Service agent Taft, alongside Guy Burnet rounding out key roles. Blending high-octane set pieces with relentless tension, the movie delivers a thrilling, action-packed ride that showcases a commander-in-chief fighting back from behind the wheel.
