Tua Taovailoa is the quarterback for the Miami Dolphins. If you haven't heard, he recently suffered another concussion, his third in the NFL and his fourth overall if you count his time as a college player at Alabama. Also, this is the fourth concussion in a span of only five years. There has been an outcry for him to consider his health with the likes of the Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce and NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe chiming in. Famed wide receiver Dez Bryant is of the sentiment that the NFL should intervene and sit Tua down which would be a game changer. Maybe the NFL will consider retiring players that have had a certain number of concussions, but no one knows what that number may be. Tagovailoa recently signed a contract worth $212.4 million dollars over a period of four years. Chad OchoCinco feels like the contract is an incentive to keep playing despite the risks involved, with CTE being a major one. CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy) is a degenerative disease which affects people that have suffered repeated concussions.
