Daylight savings time was instituted to make use of how long the sun stayed out in the summer. The night would fall later so people would have more time for day-to-day activities. Our clocks would "spring" forward and "fall" back, according to the time of the year. Standard time is what we know time as during the winter months. Believe it or not, there is a Uniform Time Act of 1966 that outlines how we, in the United States, approach daylight savings time. President Donald Trump has proposed ending daylight savings time. Trump says that "daylight savings time is inconvenient and very costly to our nation"... Click here
Businesses have been proponents of ending daylight savings time for decades while those in the healthcare field say that an end to daylight savings time could have an adverse effect on health. With a standard time, you wouldn't have to change your clocks every year. Sure, your phone and laptop will pretty much do it on their own, but your microwave, stove, and the wall clocks won't automatically reset.

Do you think that we should use standard time year-round?
